Broker Associate BRE# 01218947
John began in real estate with The Mitchell Group in Carmel in 1997 and when acquired, with Sotheby’s International Realty. His experiences covered the entire Monterey Peninsula including property in Big Sur and out to Salinas.
Among his over 110 transactions, some of his favorites included The White Rock Ranch in Big Sur with stunning views of the Pacific Coastline, a quaint post adobe on Carmel Point, a mid-century glass and wood design in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright in The Carmel Highlands, and a five-acre compound with barns in Carmel Valley. Perfect for his car collecting clients.
Prior to real estate John spent many years in the hospitality field managing hotels, resorts and restaurants in Monterey, Carmel and Carmel Valley.
John came to Pt. Richmond in 2010 due to the insistence of his sailing ketch which demanded new horizons and an unmatched sailing skyline anywhere in the world. He frequently shoves off to South Beach or Angel Island when the winds are favorable. He likes to remind “old salt” residents that since his arrival, the Giants have won three World Series titles, the Warriors have won a title and division championship while the Sharks were in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time ever!
John concentrates his efforts within close proximity to the water in the Brickyard Cove, Marina Bay and Pt. Richmond communities.
Since 2007 John has been a broker and now practices with Feagley Realtors in Point Richmond. He is a Certified Residential Specialist. He is a member of the Oakland/Berkeley Association of Realtors, serves on an advisory board to the Archdiocese of San Francisco, has served on the Professional Standards and Grievance Committee for the Monterey County Association of Realtors and is a past board member of the Carmel Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is also vice commodore of the informal Marina Bay Yacht Club and past member of several hospitality related associations.
McCord has an adult son who works for an international NGO in New York City.
